Grab your snacks and get your playlists ready, we’re going on a road trip!

Whether you've got a three-day weekend coming up that you want to take advantage of or you're looking for a getaway from MetroWest Boston, we have some suggestions to make the most of your weekend trip.

    1. Portsmouth/New Castle, NH

Distance from MetroWest Boston: 1 hour

Where to stay: Great Island Inn

If you're looking for a great getaway with history and stunning views you must check out the Portsmouth Harbor lighthouse. Fort Constitution is a great way to take in history too.

    2. Newburyport/Plum Island, MA

Distance from MetroWest Boston: 1 hour

Where to stay: Blue - Inn on the beach

There is plenty to enjoy on your weekend getaway such as the Clipper City Rail Trail, Plum Island, the Pink House, and much more.

    3. North Adams, MA

Distance from MetroWest Boston: 2 hours

    Where to stay: Tourists

This may be the smallest city in Massachusetts but it is packed with attractions such as the MASS MoCA and the Cascade Waterfall

    4. Providence, RI

Distance from MetroWest Boston: 1 hour

Where to stay: Ivy Lodge B&B

One of the oldest cities in the United States, which actually predates the nation by 140 years. Some would argue that the city of Providence itself is a living, breathing museum, there are still some noteworthy museums that deserve your attention
